Onsite Carers

onsitelogocat1web.jpgOnsite Pet Care Services is owned and operated by Christie Reeves, who is local to the Western Suburbs. Christie has spent several years in the pet industry and understands how difficult it is to leave the four-legged members of the family behind when work commitments (conferences, seminars etc) and unexpected events occur. She understands that her own animals prefer to stay in the comfort of their own home, with their own beds, smells and routines

Christie has spent many years in the animal welfare industry, starting her professional career as an Animal Control Officer with the Lost Dogs Home and now a qualified ‘positive’ dog trainer. Christie has completed several courses in the pet industry including Animal Management Certificate 111 and 1V, a Graduate Certificate in Animal Welfare with Monash University and a Companion Animal Bereavement course. She is also a certified microchip implanter for cats and dogs.

She has also updated her animal first aid skills by completing a ‘Pet Animal’ first aid course with Kensington Vet Clinic as well as a ‘Handling other peoples dogs’ seminar through CASPA. She has just returned from the Association of Pet Dog Trainers 2008 seminar in Sydney and completed  Cert 1V in assessment and Training with Victorian University in 2008. Christie also teaches a dog training component of the Animal Technology Diploma at Victorian University in Werribee and is a tutor for the Pet Dog Training course through Thomson Education. She can also be found taking puppy classes at Yarraville Village Animal Hospital.
Christie’s four legged family include pooches Beth, Billie & Tess, Winnie a 2 year old and white moggy and the latest addition a very well adjusted, talkative kitty, called Murphy (you can find Murphy on the foster kids pages). These wonderful ‘kids’ also allow Christie to take in foster kittens (and sometimes puppies) where they help the underweight, neglected animals become socialised, confident, trusting and well loved until they can find new homes (Winnie and Murphy are all ‘graduates’ of this foster program)
